I thought I would never move back to Indiana. It took me most of my life to get out of this state and 12 years ago when I moved to beautiful Charlotte NC I told myself this was my last home. I love Charlotte. It has great weather with the most sunny days of anywhere I have ever lived and it only has 2 months of cold winter. There is always something blooming and green even in winter. Charlotte is also the place where I was able to get reintroduced to pottery and practice my skills. I had easy access to a wonderful pottery community there and I will miss it very much.
"She likes Charlotte so much why would she move back to Indiana?" you ask. Well, it could be considered a bit of a romantic story. Ten years ago I reconnected with my high school sweetheart and we saw each other on and off during that time. I had no interest in moving back to my small hometown (population just a little over 1,000) and he had his business and family there so had no interest in moving to the big city of Charlotte. I would go home for holidays and funerals and it became harder and harder to leave each time I went home. Finally about 2 years ago I decided that if asked I could live and be happy in Indiana as long as I could still make pottery. My family is there and none of us are getting any younger. I could hopefully be some help to my parents as they get older. Just before New Year ’s Eve 2016 my boyfriend asked me to move in with him. I will not be able to move in right away because I have commitments in Charlotte through the end of May.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
